Happy December, SSA! We’re splashing into a big month: mid-season meets, holiday celebrations, end-of-semester crunch time, and (of course) a few schedule curveballs as our LHS Girls’ season enters full swing. With dual meets happening and holiday closures ahead, December will keep all of us on our toes, but the energy on deck is awesome, and our swimmers from elementary to high school are gearing up for a strong winter stretch.

Mid-Season Training Tip: December can feel busy, but the magic is in the “just show up.” Whether you’re 8 or 18, staying consistent through the holiday season keeps skills sharp and makes racing feel smoother when the big meets roll around.  Arrive on deck (espescially on those days where it is tempting to stay cozy and curled up at home).  Be sure to remember jacket, hat, (and shoes) for post practice!! it is chilly out there even on the warmest days when you have a wet swim suit and hair.

With LHS Girls’ dual meets in full swing and the holiday season approaching, please review the modified practice schedule carefully:

No Practice Days

  • December: 12/13, 12/22, 12/24, 12/25, 12/26, 12/31

  • January: 1/1

LHS Girls Meet Practice Adjustments

Wednesday, 12/11

  • Vampire Red: 7:00–8:00pm

  • Colossal: 8:00–9:00pm

  • Elite: AM practice only

Tuesday, 12/17

  • Giant Cuttlefish & Vampire Yellow: 7:00–8:00pm

  • K1 & Elite: 8:00–9:00pm

Please double-check your group’s schedule in OnDeck and look for any updates from coaches.

Holiday Cap Decorating Contest

It’s time to unleash your festive flair! Coaches will distribute caps for swimmers to decorate at home.
Return completed caps to the LHS pool deck by Saturday, 12/20.
