  • January is here and we’re rested, ready, and building toward the peak of short course season

We’re diving into January and a fresh chapter of our short course season. Practices are back in rhythm, training is building, and our swimmers are rested, ready, and pushing strong through the month as we move toward the peak of short course season. Thank you for being part of our swim family, we’re excited for what’s ahead!


January To-Do: Quick Account Check

Please take a few minutes to make sure your account information is up to date. This helps us keep communication smooth and avoids mid-season hiccups.

Log in and confirm:

  • Payment method on file is current

  • Phone numbers are correct

  • Email addresses are accurate

  • Push notifications are activated for time-sensitive updates (practice changes, meets, weather)

Inclement Weather Reminder

If (and when!) winter weather shows up, SSA follows LPS school closure/inclement weather policies:

  • Delayed StartNo morning practice

Weather-related updates will be sent via email and push notifications.


LHS Girls Swim & Dive Season – Practice Adjustments

The LHS Girls Swim & Dive season is ramping up toward mid-season, and two home meets in January will impact SSA practice times.

Wednesday, January 21

  • Giant & Vampire Yellow: 7:00–8:00 PM

  • K1 & KE: 8:00–9:00 PM

    • Encouraged: Attend Thursday AM practice

    • KE swimmers: Double up on Thursday, 1/22

Tuesday, January 27

  • Vampire Red: 7:00–8:00 PM

  • Colossal: 8:00–9:00 PM

  • KE: AM practice only

Thank you for your flexibility during these shared-facility evenings.


January Meets – Volunteers Needed

Registration deadlines have passed—now we need volunteer support to keep meets running smoothly.

  • Jan 9–11: NJST Narwhal Invite
    Arvada Aquatics Center (AAC)

  • Jan 23–25: FAST Winter Open
    Fort Collins

Please check your commitments and sign up where needed.  Job Sign up to be updated this weekend and LIVE by Monday 1/5 (there will probably be a few minor adjustments once we get the final list from host teams- better to have too many signed up than not enough).


Looking Ahead: February Meet Registration Opening Soon

Keep an eye out for meet announcements and registration openings for:

  • Feb 1: FORM February Freeze – Hinkley High School

  • Feb 13–15: NJST Groundhog Invite – AAC


Championship Season Is Coming

We’re rolling quickly into CSI Short Course Championship Meets (time qualifications apply):

  • Feb 20–22: CSI Senior State (15+) – University of Denver

  • Feb 27–Mar 1: CSI Age Group State (14 & Under) – AAC

  • Mar 6–8: CSI Silver State (14 & Under) – University of Denver

For ALL SSA Swimmers

  • Mar 13–15: Mile High ChampionshipsAAC

    • FINAL meet of the Short Course season

    • Prelims/Finals format — please review this information closely
